Attempting 16kms Saturday

But knowing how I'm feeling now, it'll probably happen on Sunday. I'm lacking motivation, more afraid of the upcoming 1/2 marathon then I am of the Tough Mudder, don't know where that's coming from! I just have to remember that the running is 95% mental and 5% skill! The 95% mental might be winning out a bit though.

After the summer, will start training for my first full marathon! Doing the crazy drinking one in France, I mean, really, if you're going to do a Marathon doesn't it seem more wise to do one running through the Bordeaux region of France (my favorite type of wine) re-hydrating with wine and in your last 1/4 of the race all you can eat oysters, breads, cheese and cold cuts? I mean, makes sense to me!

I guess bad runs are good for you!

As soon as I posted my crappy run post I found this! http://authorjimlynch.com/bad-training-runs-are-good-for-you

Crappy run!

I now understand why you do a long run every weekend. I skipped last weekend just because (probably the correct answer is lazy) and the weekend before I had my triathlon. I can't skip anymore long weekend runs. It felt horrible AND it's getting harder to hold back running fast, never thought I would say that! My pace for my short runs are getting faster, almost one minute faster then my long runs. Thankfully I have a GPS watch that tells me my distance and pace and I can pull myself back when I'm going too fast on the long runs.

But still, I'll be doing a Running Room training session for my next 1/2 marathon!! None of this, I can do it on my own crap!

I finished 2nd in my age group!

One can not explain the feeling of accomplishment you feel after finishing a triathlon! I'll be doing it again and only wish I could do it faster then July (signed up for too many races between now and then!) I'm also hoping to take some people with me for the journey if only on the relay! Which, after talking to some people involved on a relay team, they seemed to be having a blast!

The UBC Triathlon was well run, well organized, great volunteers all along the route and just plan fun! I'm tired and hyper all at the same time. I just wonder if my numbers will wash off now!

Today's the day!

Today's the day for the Tri/Du UBC Triathlon. Very nervous! Got no sleep last night, was panicked that I counted my swims incorrectly and am slower, have packed my wetbag three times already. At least getting up that early I can have two breakfasts instead of one.

And the kicker today, calling for thundershowers right when I should be getting on my bike today, really? I have a dreadful phobia with thundershowers! At the very least it'll help me run/bike faster!
